Key Responsibilities
* Design and manage the legal infrastructure for Deel’s global payments operations
* Provide strategic legal guidance on payments products, regulatory obligations, and licensing
* Act as the key legal partner to product and compliance teams, embedding risk management into innovation
* Create and maintain scalable legal and compliance processes
* Monitor and interpret global legal and regulatory developments impacting payments
* Support the international movement of employees for business travel
* Collaborate with external counsel and cross-regional internal teams
Desired Skills and Experience
* Minimum 5 years of legal experience, with at least 1–2 years in payments, fintech, lending, or banking
* JD, LLB, LLM, or equivalent legal qualification
* Fluency in English (additional languages a plus)
* Experience navigating regulated industries and advising on legal frameworks
* Ability to distill complex legal matters into clear, actionable advice
* Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
* Effective communicator and team collaborator across global regions
* Comfortable in fast-paced, high-growth environments
