Divisional Communications Officer – Southern, Central Region
As a Divisional Communications Officer, your role will be to help spread the word and key messages of the charity, supporting their projects for those in need.
Reporting to the Media Manager, you’ll work with a team to develop stories, campaigns, and high-profile media events. This role covers colleagues across Southern England, including Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Dorset, Hampshire, and Oxfordshire.
The role:
* Promote the charity's work across media and digital channels.
* Research and write case studies to highlight the charity's work.
* Build and maintain relationships with Divisional Leaders.
* Provide communications advice on complex or sensitive issues, with support from the Head of Communications and PR.
* Deliver news stories to regional and local media.
* Support national media campaigns.
* Contribute stories and articles for the intranet.
* Assist with out-of-hours media support as needed.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Proven experience in media relations, preferably within a large organization or charity sector.
* Experience in creating high-quality digital content and managing social media platforms.
* Strong research skills for sourcing content and creating briefings, materials, and case studies.
* Ability to generate media coverage supporting campaigns.
* Excellent interpersonal skills for stakeholder influence and collaboration.
* Experience in brand and reputation management.
* Knowledge of media strategy.
* Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
