Generative artificial intelligence (AI) describes algorithms that can be used to produce new content, including audio, code, images, text, simulations, and videos. It is developing all the time and is now being used as a support mechanism for all kinds of content-based creations. Please note the use of AI is monitored and if applicants have used it then they are required to declare this.
1. The post-holder will act as a Keyworker for patients admitted to the Trust with an oncological emergency, a suspected cancer diagnosis, and complications of Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) or with a cancer of unknown primary.
2. The post-holder will continually develop, implement and evaluate the Cancer outreach service to improve and maintain standards of patient care and promote a seamless service within a multi-professional framework
3. Be a clinical expert in Cancer outreach and Cancer of Unknown primary with excellent communication skills. The role requires the ability to work autonomously and independently but within an integrated collaborative team

5. Fixed term position for 6 months to cover sickness within the team.
6. Ensure their role reflects the core components of the clinical nurse specialist which includes: clinical practice, management / organisation, education, research and audit, taking into account the national cancer agenda and its impact on service delivery
7. Delivers quality care by delivering evidence based individualised and personalised care
8. To be a point of contact for patients with a suspected cancer diagnosis / a cancer of unknown primary and patients admitted with complications of Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment or an oncological emergency
9. Act as a role model demonstrating high standards of care and providing clinical leadership to others
10. Use of advanced communications skills when discussing diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis with patients with a new cancer diagnosis / suspected cancer diagnosis
11. Implementation and evaluation of person-centred care for all patients
12. Maintain clinical skills in physical assessment
13. Attend consultant ward rounds to review inpatients admitted with a suspected cancer diagnosis / a cancer of unknown primary and patients admitted with complications of Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment or an oncological emergency
