Job Summary
We are MMA/SMAW Stick Welders to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of welding techniques and the ability to work with various materials, including sheet metal. As a Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and components, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the process.
Various shifts available including AM, PM and Nights – Additional shift premium payable for nights (£209per week premium)
Production Bonus also payable on a monthly basis (5-10% of monthly earnings)
Overtime available and also paid at a premium (x1.5 over basic hours in the week and Sat, and x2 double time on a Sunday)
Responsibilities
* Operate power tools and hand tools to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts.
* Perform welding tasks using stick welding techniques and other methods as required.
* Fabricate components according to specifications and blueprints.
* Conduct inspections of finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following safety protocols and guidelines.
* Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals efficiently.
* Utilise basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication processes.
* Demonstrate mechanical knowledge in troubleshooting equipment and machinery as needed.
Experience
* Proven experience in welding, particularly with sheet metal fabrication.
* Familiarity with various welding techniques, including stick welding.
* Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to operate both power tools and hand tools effectively.
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction environment is preferred but not essential.
* A commitment to safety practices and attention to detail is crucial for this role.
