Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Occupational Therapy Team Manager to join our Adult Social Care Services. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and shape a dedicated OT team within a progressive local authority committed to improving lives through personalised, empowering support.
You'll play a vital leadership role in driving high standards of practice, promoting professional development, and ensuring our service users experience seamless, outcome-focused care that maximises independence and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a team of Occupational Therapists delivering adult social care interventions across the city
2. Ensure people are fully involved in their care planning and supported to achieve meaningful outcomes
3. Champion occupational therapy within the organisation and across the wider health and social care system
4. Identify and address system barriers to ensure efficient service delivery
5. Provide expert clinical leadership and supervision, encouraging reflective practice and continuous learning
6. Maintain a strong focus on diversity, human rights, and ethical decision-making
7. Support innovation and service development, using feedback from people who use the service to drive improvement
8. Deputise for the Strategic Manager - Local Communities and collaborate with other team managers as required
Requirements:
9. HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
10. Significant experience within adult social care, including complex case management and service development
11. Proven leadership ability, with experience supervising or managing multidisciplinary staff
12. Strong knowledge of housing adaptations, equipment provision, and manual handling
13. Confident in applying legal, ethical and rights-based frameworks to practice
14. Committed to promoting equality, inclusion, and person-centred approaches in all areas of service
