Blow Moulding Shift Manager
Location: Severnside
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (2 days, 2 nights)
About the role
We’re looking for a strong, people‑led Blow Moulding Shift Manager to lead performance on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern at our Severnside operation.
This is a hands‑on leadership role, responsible for delivering safe, compliant and efficient production, while developing and engaging teams to achieve operational excellence. You’ll play a key part in delivering the Blow Moulding strategy, driving continuous improvement, and embedding strong standards across Health & Safety, Quality, Cost and Engineering performance.
Key responsibilities
Leading and managing the team
1. Lead, coach and engage shift teams to consistently deliver safety, quality and performance targets
2. Ensure company policies, procedures and site standards are consistently followed
3. Set clear objectives and performance goals, managing capability, attendance and conduct
4. Create a positive, high‑performance culture through visible leadership and engagement
5. Support recruitment, onboarding and development of team members
Health, safety, environment & quality
6. Champion a strong Health & Safety culture, ensuring safe systems of work are followed
7. Lead investigations, ensuring incidents and near misses are captured, root causes identified and actions closed
8. Drive compliance with food safety, quality and environmental standards
9. Complete audits, QCP checks and ensure actions are signed off and sustained
Operational performance & continuous improvement
10. Deliver day‑to‑day production performance against plan, driving pace and discipline
11. Identify performance gaps and lead corrective actions to improve output, waste and cost
12. Embed problem‑solving and continuous improvement using KPI, SPC and performance data
13. Lead effective shift handovers to ensure continuity and visibility of issues
14. Support asset care, TPM activities and close collaboration with Engineering
What we’re looking for
15. Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment (blow moulding or automated processing highly desirable)
16. Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, Quality and performance management
17. Confident people manager with the ability to coach, challenge and develop others
18. Structured and data‑driven, with strong problem‑solving capability
19. Comfortable working a 4 on / 4 off rotating days and nights shift pattern
