We are looking for a motivated candidate to join a well established team in Ward 54 who will be responsible for looking after the housekeeping on a busy surgical ward.
The successful candidate will require to work alongside the ward manager and the nursing team towards contributing to the smooth running of our services and in ensuring a safe and comfortable environment is maintained.
Duties include:-
• Responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities in the ward ensuring a clean; safe and comfortable environment.
• Ensure effective provisions of catering; cleaning and maintenance services on the ward.
• Talking and reassuring patients.
• Ordering non-clinical supplies
• Keeping the ward clean and tidy.
• Preparing snacks and drinks.
• Reporting faults.
• Clerical and admin tasks
• Contribute towards quality and improvement
Excellent communication skills and a knowledge of infection control and basic IT skills are essential to perform this role safely and efficiently.
You must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy, challenging and rewarding environment
Candidates should be enthusiastic, dynamic, caring and compassionate. You should be self motivated; must have the ability to work independently and work as part of a team striving to deliver high quality patient focused care.
Organisational skills and a methodical approach are an essential requirement for this post along with a patient centred focus.
Experience within a busy ward is desirable, although not essential, as supervision and support will be available to orientate you into the role.
The post is full-time based on the needs of the service (Monday-Friday).
