Monarch Education is working in partnership with a large, well-respected secondary school in Central Birmingham to recruit a dedicated and skilled HLTA to support students across all year groups under the guidance of the SENCO. About the Role: As a HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across all secondary year groups, working closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to provide tailored support to students, including those with additional needs. You will help create an inclusive environment that promotes academic success, independence, and confidence among students. Key Responsibilities: Supporting the delivery of tailored learning activities across all secondary year groups under the direction of the SENCO and teaching staff. Assisting with the planning and delivery of interventions for students with additional needs. Supporting students with SEN, behavioural challenges, or other specific needs to enable full participation in lessons. Supervising and supporting students both within and outside the classroom as required. Promoting positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive learning environment. Assisting with the preparation of learning materials and resources. Contributing to the assessment and monitoring of student progress. Essential Requirements: HLTA status or equivalent experience working as a teaching assistant in a secondary school setting. Proven experience supporting students with SEN or diverse learning needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work flexibly across different year groups and subjects. Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach. A good understanding of safeguarding procedures and policies. Desirable: Relevant qualifications in SEN, Teaching Assistant training, or education support.
