Job Description
Principal Designer and Construction Health and Safety Consultant required to join a well-established, dedicated Construction Health, Safety and CDM Consultancy. You will join an established, growing team, delivering the Principal Designer role, providing CDM advice for clients and construction safety advice for contractors on various challenging and interesting construction projects, predominantly across the North West region.
Responsibilities include:
1. Health and safety assurance services to clients and projects
2. Early engagement with stakeholders
3. Briefings on best practices
4. Development and review of safety management procedures to ensure compliance with client safety policies, regulations, and best practices
5. Review and approval of RAMS
6. Advising on health and safety competence of supply chain
7. Site walkthroughs, inspections, and audits to monitor construction projects
8. Reviewing and providing inductions
9. Managing day-to-day contractor health and safety matters, interfaces, permit issues, etc.
10. Representing clients in health and safety meetings
11. Providing ongoing health and safety advice, support, guidance, and mentoring to clients
12. Delivering CDM/health and safety briefings and training to clients and project team members as required
13. Reporting on CDM/health and safety performance and monitoring reports
Experience:
The position is open at Consultant or Senior Consultant grade, depending on experience. Each grade offers a progression plan toward promotion, pay rises, and increased responsibilities. Previous construction-related experience and qualifications are beneficial.
Qualifications:
You will hold or be working towards CMaPS and/or CMIOSH qualifications.
The company offers a salary of £55k-£65k, plus car allowance, pension, and healthcare.
