Responsibilities:
1. Leading large-scale projects within the organization
2. Setting technical direction, strategic guidance and long-term vision for engineering teams
3. Influencing company-wide engineering practices and standards
4. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels
5. Solving complex, high-impact problems with innovative solutions
6. Drives continuous improvement and innovation within the organization
7. Proactively research new and emerging technologies and approaches to enhance the network infrastructure posture of Elanco.
8. Engaging in the community (internally and externally) across multiple channels, looking to share, educate and inspire.
9. Mentor and coach senior and junior engineers. This includes helping them to develop their technical skills and grow their careers.
10. Creating and maintaining documentation artefacts to ensure our solutions are well documented and simple to understand.
11. Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders. This could involve writing documentation, giving presentations, or meeting with clients.
12. Represent the team in meetings with other teams and stakeholders. This could involve discussing technical issues, providing status updates, or negotiating with other teams.
13. Contribute to the overall technical strategy of the organization. This could involve identifying new technologies or solutions that could be adopted or helping to develop the organization's technical roadmap.
14. Cross-functional collaboration: Projects often involve collaboration with other teams, such as security, development, and product management. The Principal Engineer may need to bridge communication gaps and ensure everyone is aligned on project goals.
15. Troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, service incidents, performance, and availability issues
Experience:
16. At least 10 years’ experience in network engineering
17. 8+ years’ hands-on experience in routing, switching, wireless, segmentation (Cisco)
18. Strong understanding and knowledge of SDN technologies (Cisco SD-WAN, VMWare NSX)
19. 5+ years’ experience in designing and building technical solutions
20. Solid understanding of firewall technologies (especially Palo Alto)
21. Solid knowledge of Network Access Control (especially Forescout)
22. Understanding hybrid cloud environment (Azure, GCP, VMware)
23. Familiar with network security solutions
24. Strong communication skills with multiple examples of being able to convey complex ideas in a manner that resulted in a definitive direction and result
25. Strong personal & work organisational skills

Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate industry experience
Other Information:
Overseas travel may be required.
