Management Accountant

Job Overview: We are seeking a Management / Financial Accountant to lead financial accounting and reporting activities for two of our key business units. This role will play a critical part in maintaining robust financial control while supporting a system migration from Exchequer to Sage.
The successful candidate will demonstrate technical accounting expertise with strong stakeholder engagement skills. This role will take ownership of the month-end process, produce accurate and timely management accounts, and maintaining full responsibility for the P&L and balance sheet.
In addition, you will proactively identify opportunities to enhance financial reporting, improve insight, and support better decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out data cleansing activities to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data ahead of ERP migration
* Ensure continuity of financial data during system transition
* Lead all financial accounting and reporting activities for the Airedale Catering and Caterform business units
* Manage month-end close, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations
* Produce accurate and timely management accounts and financial reports
* Provide variance analysis and insightful commentary on financial performance
* Assist operational stakeholders to support key decision-making
* Contribute to process improvements and strengthen financial controls
* Support project accounting activities, including cost tracking and reporting
* Working with and supporting the accounts payable
Experience Required:
* Strong technical accounting background (essential)
* Fully or part-qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
* Proven experience in financial accounting and reporting roles
* Experience in project accounting environments is desirable
* Demonstrated ability to manage month-end processes independently
* Experience with ERP systems; exposure to Exchequer ERP and/or Sage Intacct desirable
* Strong Excel and financial systems skills
* Excellent communication skills with ability to engage stakeholders
* Previous experience within manufacturing or project led industries would be highly advantageous.
