We have a fantastic opportunity for an Ambulance Care Assistant (Secure Mental Health) to join our amazing team based in Hertfordshire. You will support the police and other professionals by transporting service users to and from healthcare facilities as part of a three‑person team. Full UK driving licence and full training are required. We offer two shift patterns: Monday‑Friday 8‑hour shifts or 12‑hour 4‑on/4‑off covering the full week, including night shifts.

Main Duties
* Work as part of a team to support the service user on board
* Take responsibility for ensuring the vehicle is safely driven
* Assist service users with challenging behaviour and/or mental health illnesses
* Provide physical intervention when required for challenging service users
* Transport vulnerable service users between hospitals, homes, prisons and medical/care settings (A&E, outpatients, wards)
* Coordinate with hospital staff and police on safe conveyance of the service user
* Lift, secure, and assist service users in and out of the ambulance
* Hand over service users to appropriate staff at treatment centres/hospitals
* Transfer service users from beds to stretchers, chairs, etc. within and outside hospital settings
* Keep the ambulance safe, clean and tidy
Successful Candidates Will Have
* Full manual UK driving licence (no more than six penalty points)
* Commitment to patient care and ability to build rapport with patients
* Effective communication skills, especially in emotional and difficult circumstances
* Team‑working and collaboration mindset
* Physical fitness for patient handling and occasional restraint when required
* Problem‑solving ability and recognition of changes in patient behaviour during demanding situations
