The role • Manage relationships with key strategic customers, acting as the key point of contact for commercial discussions. Provide strategic and tailored solutions to customers to ensure their needs are met and business value is delivered. • Lead high-value and complex contract negotiations and re-sign efforts, ensuring contracts are renewed and revenue is defended. • Develop and implement account plans and strategy to drive growth, identifying opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell. • Monitor and ensure delivery of services to meet or exceed customer expectations, working closely with internal teams. • Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by customers, ensuring swift and effective resolution. • Provide expert advice on account strategy, helping to shape the direction of the commercial relationship. • Track account performance against agreed KPIs, reporting on progress and areas for improvement. • Conduct regular account reviews with customers, ensuring alignment on goals and expectations. • Drive continuous improvement in account management processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance. • Provide thought leadership through account management expertise and act as an SME for the team. • Market and industry knowledge, stay informed about industry trends, market conditions and competitors • Lead the matrix team supporting the account. • Contribute towards contract drafting. The person • Customer Excellence - Expertise in customer experience principles and management, with an ability to design and implement strategies that enhance customer satisfaction, loyalty, and engagement. • CRM Software - Proficiency in using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to manage and track sales pipelines, customer interactions, and business development activities • Commercial Management - Understanding of contract law, risk management, and commercial principles and best practices. • Contract Management - Proficiency with commercial contracts and contract negotiations. • Data Analysis - Ability to manipulate and analyse data, and make informed decisions • Communication skills - collaborate with cross-functional teams, present technical info and provide training or support • Analytical and technical problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues • Innovation & CI - ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement • Relationship management - ability to foster relationships (and network) with external vendors, suppliers, industry peers, etc. • Substantial experience in account management or a related field. • Proven track record in defending and growing high-value customer accounts.
