New Vacancy – Assistant Claims Manager – Marine

I am currently recruiting for a leading Lloyds Syndicate who are seeking an Assistant Claims Manager to join their growing Marine team.
This role will be working closely with the Marine Liability Claims Manager handling complex liability cases, particularly in the US. Excellent knowledge of ECF and Lloyds Claims Schemes is required for this role as well as 5/10+ years handling Marine Liability Claims. Good experience handling delegated business is an advantage too.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide feedback to underwriters and management regarding the structure of claim issues and related risk information, with the aim of improving overall underwriting standards.
* Take the lead in managing complex claims under the guidance of the Claims Manager.
* Act as a point of escalation in the absence of the Claims Manager.
* Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of staff.
* Ensure that Lloyds minimum standards are consistently met and assist underwriters and claims personnel in maintaining compliance and professional development.
* Ensure customers are always treated fairly and in accordance with regulatory and ethical standards.
* Manage all allocated claims in line with internal policies, procedures, and service level agreements.
* Prepare and deliver departmental reports as required.
* Attend market meetings and conference calls when necessary.
* Ensure all complaints and related incidents are logged, investigated, and resolved in accordance with established procedures.
* Mentor and support the development of junior team members.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders and assist with ad hoc activities or project work as needed.
