Overview

The Environment Agency is hiring two Benefits and Efficiencies Analysts to join the Transformation Portfolio Management Office (PMO) within the Strategy, Transformation and Assurance (STA) directorate. The PMO focuses on creating a centralised portfolio that drives change, transformation, and continuous improvement. The team shapes and optimises the project portfolio, ensures strategic alignment, enhances decision-making, and provides evidence to manage risk across change and transformation. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in change and transformation with development opportunities and strong support from the team.

You will analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers across the portfolio, help set the standards for benefits and value management, and assist in embedding them. You will help teams identify, value, and validate their project benefits.


Responsibilities

* Analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers across the portfolio to support decision-making and benefit tracking.
* Help set and embed standards for benefits and value management.
* Identify, value, and validate project benefits to demonstrate impact and value.
* Support change, transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO and wider organisation.
* Collaborate across organisational boundaries and build constructive relationships.


Experience and Skills

* Strong analytical skills with proven experience as a Benefits Analyst, Efficiencies Analyst, or Business Analyst.
* Experience building and maintaining dashboards or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel).
* Clear communication skills; ability to explain complex analysis to non-technical audiences.
* Self-motivation, adaptability, and ability to work independently or in a team.
* Experience producing guidance, toolkits, or frameworks to support colleagues.
* Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and promote inclusive thinking in work.


Other Information

* Location: EA Office base location; role is hybrid with national duties and some travel/overnights may be required.
