What You'll Do
Epic Games is searching for an Engine Feature Programmer to help enhance and maintain Unreal Engine's media functionality. You will work directly with some of the brightest technical minds in the industry as we are expanding media functionality for all our games and clients.
In this role, you will
* Design and develop media client features for our internal games and the Unreal Engine itself
* Implement and expand the media functionality between the client, engine, and the backend
* Establish comprehensive developer toolsets to streamline media integration across gaming and film projects
* Assist internal customers in optimizing media integrations by identifying areas for improvement and providing technical guidance for long-term solutions
* Stay up-to-date with current techniques and research in media technology
What we're looking for
* Strong C++ knowledge and experience with multi-threaded programming; ability to architect core engine systems
* Experience in designing and implementing performant and resilient network clients
* Proficiency in developing robust APIs for frontend and backend systems
* Experience with Unreal Engine, ideally with projects developed in UE4 or UE5, and thorough knowledge of Unreal Engine's Blueprint system
* Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with client engineering teams to develop and refine features/tools
* Experience working in large codebases at a fast pace, balancing usability, performance, and power considerations
