Cared For Social Worker - Cheshire East (Children's Services / Permanence & Care Planning)
Cheshire East Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the team supporting children in care. You will help children achieve permanence and stability, completing care plans, assessments, and statutory visits. The role also focuses on supporting children to develop skills, achieve aspirations, and prepare for adulthood. This is an excellent opportunity for social workers passionate about children's outcomes, with occasional involvement in court proceedings when required.
Key Responsibilities
* Support children in care to achieve permanence and stability.
* Complete care plans, statutory assessments, and regular visits to children and carers.
* Assist children in achieving their aspirations, skills development, and preparation for adulthood.
* Maintain accurate case records and statutory documentation.
* Contribute to multi‑agency working, liaising with foster carers, schools, health services, and other partners.
* Undertake court work as required, preparing reports and attending hearings.
* Ensure children's welfare and best interests remain at the centre of all decisions.
Essential Requirements
* Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree or equivalent).
* Social Work England registration (current and active).
* Experience in Children's Services, particularly Looked After Children / Permanence.
* Strong assessment, care planning, and case management skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Knowledge of statutory requirements and children's legislation.
