Are you dedicated to supporting children with additional needs? Looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a specialist setting? Milk Education is working in partnership with a SEND provision to recruit an Autism Support Worker to join their committed team.
About the school…
This SEND school supports pupils aged 2 to 19, many of whom have complex and multiple learning difficulties, as well as speech, language and communication needs, alongside physical or sensory challenges.
The school is focused on breaking down barriers to learning through:

Role: Autism Support Worker
In this position, you will work closely with the Class Teacher and wider staff team to support pupils’ education, wellbeing, and everyday care needs.
Key Responsibilities
4. Adhere to all school policies and procedures
5. Provide support with feeding, personal care, and hygiene when required
6. Assist in lesson delivery by adapting activities, encouraging engagement, and supporting learning
7. Help manage behaviour in line with the school’s strategies
8. Develop positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support communication and confidence
9. Observe, track, and report on pupil progress, behaviour, and well-being
Essential Criteria (Non-Negotiables)
10. Recent experience supporting children or adults with learning disabilities in care or educational settings
11. Willingness to provide personal care (including feeding and hygiene support)
12. Ability to stay calm, patient, and consistent in challenging situations
13. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
14. A compassionate, adaptable, and resilient approach
