Overview
Connect2Kent have an exciting opportunity for experienced Residential Home Manager to assist with the running of a brand new Children's Home located in Kent.
Purpose of the role
Support the Registered Manager in running the children's home in line with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted standards. Lead a team of Residential Support Workers and act as a corporate parent to children, ensuring their safety and care until they move to a permanent home.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Help maintain and develop a safe, compliant living environment.
* Build positive relationships with Ofsted and Independent Visitors; respond to inspection findings when required.
* Oversee daily operations, including safeguarding and quality of care.
* Run shift handovers, assign tasks, and ensure completion.
* Check and approve children's records on Liberi for accuracy.
* Ensure children attend appointments and reviews; record outcomes promptly.
* Report incidents to the Registered Manager.
* Manage room availability and belongings checklists for arrivals and departures.
* Plan weekly activities and encourage participation.
* Work shifts as needed to monitor and support staff practice.
* Promote equality and inclusion; listen to children's wishes and feelings.
* Provide regular supervision and development plans for Residential Support Workers.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience of working and caring for children or young people.
* Experience of working in a residential setting.
* Experience of working with unaccompanied asylum‑seeking children.
* Familiarity with Children's Home regulations and standards.
Pay
£17.84 per hour
