Overview
We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Qualified Teacher of Deaf Children and Young People to work within the Specialist Sensory Education Team supporting the effective inclusion of children and young people who are deaf or hard of hearing. You will be working flexibly across a broad range of settings and with families, as part of a highly skilled supportive team to provide advice, training and teaching.
Qualifications and requirements
We are looking for an enthusiastic qualified teacher who holds the mandatory Teacher of Deaf Children and Young People qualification. Suitably experienced teachers who wish to apply must complete the mandatory qualification within 2 years of course commencement. You should have extensive teaching experience, expertise in the field of deafness and excellent knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities.

Role details
The Specialist Sensory Education team is a peripatetic service who support children and young people aged 0-25 and their families in the home and a range of educational settings, working closely with schools and professionals across a range of services to implement interventions and use technology to promote learning for deaf children and young people.
Contract and salary
Qualified Teacher Pay Scale + SEN 2 (MPS/UPS + SEN 2) (depending upon qualifications and teaching experience)
Full Time Teacher (working 39 weeks per year)
