We are looking for dynamic youth mentors who have a desire to engage, guide and bring a positive influence in the lives of the young people in our care.
You will be looking after Young People with mild to moderate learning disabilities so experience of working with Autism, ADHD and non-verbal and knowledge of Makaton or PECs is desirable. Training will be provided but the most important quality we are looking for is a commitment and a desire to bring a positive influence in the lives of young people.
The successful candidate must have experience working in a Children’s Home, and will already have achieved the Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care.
The Senior Children’s Residential Care Worker Role Will Involve
* Helping to create a positive environment for each young person’ with particular reference to his/ her safety, health and education.
* Helping to carry the homes ethos and values through to the young people and represent Blue Mountain Homes as a professional.
* Maintaining good professional practices in accordance with Ofsted Regulations and the Quality Care Standards for children’s homes.
* Engaging in the effective delivery of residential childcare in accordance with Company
Our normal shift patterns are on a rolling rota basis and our shift working hours are 07.30am-23.00pm per shift, which means days of working can vary from week to week. Sleep in shifts are required. All applicants must have a valid manual UK/EU Driving Licence.

Salary: Up to £36,232* per year (£14.00-£14.65 per hour, £60 per sleep). Salary dependant on qualifications and undertaking 3 – 8 sleep’s per month.
