We are seeking a highly capable Accounts Assistant / qualified-by-experience Accountant / Accounting Manager to support the internal finance function.
This role will work closely with the CFO and be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring the accuracy of financial records and the smooth running of accounts payable, accounts receivable and bookkeeping processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys working in a small company environment and taking ownership of core finance processes.
Typical Day
* Process supplier invoices and payments
* Manage supplier queries and relationships
* Ensure financial data integrity and accuracy
* Support the wider team with issuing customer invoices
* Support improvements to finance workflows and controls
Typical Week
* Prepare weekly payment runs
* Key supplier statement reconciliations
* Support credit control processes
Typical Month
* Assist with month-end close processes
* Prepare journals and reconciliations
* Support preparation of management accounts
* Monitor debtor balances and elevate as required
Skills & Experience
* Strong bookkeeping and accounting experience
* Experience managing accounts payable and receivable processes
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Ability to work independently in a small team environment
* Experience with accounting software (Xero)
* AAT qualified or qualified by experience
* Experience supporting management accounts preparation
* SME or startup environment experience

Remuneration
£36,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience) + benefits
