Job Title: Permanent Pharmacist (Must be a prescriber) – GP Surgery Location: Bath, Somerset Salary: £40,000-£60,000 Job Type: Full-time / Part-time (Permanent) Start Date: "ASAP" About Us We are recruiting for a friendly and forward-thinking GP surgery dedicated to providing high-quality primary care services to thier community. Thier multidisciplinary team includes GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants, and administrative staff who work collaboratively to support patient wellbeing. They are now looking for a qualified and motivated Independent Prescribing Pharmacist to join thier team on a permanent basis. Role Overview As thier in-house pharmacist, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, effective, and efficient use of medicines. You will support clinical staff, provide expert medication advice, and contribute to the overall quality of care delivered to patients. As an Independent Prescriber, you will also consult with patients and manage their medication as part of our clinical team. Key Responsibilities * Conduct structured medication reviews for patients with long-term conditions * Prescribe medications within your clinical competence and in line with local and national guidelines * Provide prescribing advice and medicines optimisation support to GPs and clinicians * Manage repeat prescription requests and medication queries * Support medicines reconciliation following hospital discharge * Assist in achieving QOF, IIF, and other clinical targets * Participate in audits and quality improvement projects * Deliver patient education on medication use and adherence * Contribute to the development and implementation of prescribing policies Requirements * GPhC-registered Pharmacist * Independent Prescriber qualification (essential) * Experience in primary care, community pharmacy, or hospital setting * Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills * Knowledge of EMIS / SystmOne desirable * Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team What They Offer * Competitive salary and NHS pension scheme * Supportive and collaborative working environment * Opportunities for professional development * Flexible working hours * CPD funding and career progression support
