What's involved with this role: Interim PT Team Manager – Children & Family Services Reference no: Stoke on Trent 5247507 Pay rate: £33.24 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 18.5 Monday to Wednesday, 08:30 – 17:00 This opening assignment is for 2-3 months City: STOKE ON TRENT, Staffordshire Enhanced DBS required for this role A skilled, enthusiastic PT Practitioner/Team Manager, with significant experience as a qualified Social Worker, is required to lead a busy and committed support and safeguarding team. Key responsibilities: Support a small team of social workers to undertake creative, relational direct work with children and their family, forge strong and productive multi-agency relationships and be part of the team that is working on a well set out improvement journey. Manage staff and resources within the Team, with particular emphasis on practice, to ensure the delivery of a high quality service. Ensure that a systemic approach is deployed both in terms of practitioners working together on case work and direct work with children and families. Undertake the prioritisation and allocation of work within the team, ensuring focused and purposeful social work interventions with explicit aims and objectives about desired outcomes. Be accountable to the Principal Manager for all elements of practice within the team workload in accordance with policy and procedures and for staff care and development of team members in accordance with policy and procedures. Support the Principal Manager in the best use of resources and contribute to the planning and development of services. Ensure that Practice Standards, Performance Indicators and statutory duties and regulations are complied with. Work with Principal Manager and Coordinator to ensure that relevant documentation/administration information, data and finance information is up to date. Support, nurture and assess newly qualified social workers in the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment by pod/individual supervision, audits and observed practice. Provide practice feedback mapped to the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF) that will allow the Principal Manager to complete the final report. Prepare, attend and chair where applicable a range of meetings and decision-making forums on specific cases as required and in consultation with the principal manager. Significant post qualification experience within a children’s social care arena. Experience of child protection enquiries, safeguarding procedures, care planning and statutory reviews. Experience in public & private law proceedings. Experience of using Information Technology and children’s electronic recording. Experience of performance management and monitoring. Skills & Abilities: Good communication skills. Able to manage and lead a team/pod efficiently in a challenging environment. Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and families. Have highly developed co-ordination and time management and prioritisation skills to enable the post-holder to achieve plans and objectives in a timely and organised manner. Ability to synthesise and prioritise complex and potentially conflicting demands, understand and absorb information and resolve problems. Skilled in working directly with children and families. Ability to plan ahead/organise/prioritise and implement service improvements and innovations. Ability to meet fully the requirements of the post and cover the geographical area required either by possession of a valid driving license and access to public or other transport in line with the Disability Discrimination Act.
