Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable 8-wheeler driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, primarily utilising rigid lorries. This role requires a professional with experience in commercial driving and delivery operations. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic logistics environment, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high safety standards.
Responsibilities
* Operate 8-wheeler lorries, adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws.
* Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with legal requirements.
* Plan and follow delivery routes efficiently, ensuring timely collection and drop-off of goods.
* Load and unload aggregate material safely, utilising appropriate techniques and help from banksman if available
* Communicate effectively with quarry staff and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance reports.
* Perform routine mechanical checks and basic troubleshooting to minimise downtime.
Experience
* Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with 8-wheeler.
* Prior experience as a delivery driver is highly desirable.
* Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
* Warehouse experience is beneficial for understanding logistics operations.
* Valid driver's licence with relevant endorsements for heavy goods vehicles (HGV). This role offers an engaging opportunity for experienced drivers who are organised, safety-conscious, and capable of managing demanding schedules within the logistics sector.
