Prospero Teaching is working closely with a welcoming primary school based in Waterlooville, who are looking to appoint a Level 1 or 2 Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This is a class-based role in Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4). As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll work closely with the class teacher to support pupils throughout the school day-helping them feel confident, safe, and ready to learn. What You'll Do Each Day Provide one-to-one support to help pupils with learning and social skills Encourage positive behaviour and help children build friendships Support emotional wellbeing and help remove barriers to learning Work flexibly across different classes and follow a daily timetable Use initiative to ensure all learners achieve the best outcomes Who We're Looking For Someone patient, caring, and a strong team player GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths (grade C or level 4) Experience is helpful but not essential-training and support will be provided Calm and positive approach to supporting children with a range of needs Empathetic understanding of behaviour and emotional development Willingness to undergo training, including support for children with medical needs Strong understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality Important Details Working Hours: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday Term-Time Only: 39 weeks per year Starting Pay: £13.96 per hour Location: Prospero's client primary school based in Waterlooville Contract Type: Ongoing position (not fixed term) What You Need to Join The right to work in the UK A DBS check (or willingness to apply for one) Two references from individuals who can speak to your experience with children or in education If this sounds like the right role for you, please send an up-to-date copy of your CV for consideration
