Are you a passionate and dedicated primary teacher who thrives on helping young learners develop confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning? Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a real impact at a pivotal stage in a child’s educational journey? If so, we would love to hear from you.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 2 Class Teacher to join our welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hertford, starting as soon as possible. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an inspiring teacher who is eager to contribute to a supportive school community and deliver high-quality teaching during an important transitional year between Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

About Our School

Our school is a well-established and highly regarded primary school located in the historic town of Hertford. We are proud of our strong sense of community, inclusive ethos, and commitment to providing every child with a positive and enriching educational experience. The school benefits from excellent relationships with parents and carers, who actively support their children’s learning and the wider life of the school.

We believe that children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and challenged. Our pupils are enthusiastic, polite, and eager to learn, and they respond positively to engaging and creative teaching. Staff at our school work collaboratively, sharing best practice and supporting one another to continuously improve outcomes for all learners.

Professional development is a priority for us, and we are committed to supporting teachers at every stage of their career. Whether you are an Early Career Teacher or an experienced practitioner, you will be encouraged to reflect on your practice, develop your skills, and take on new challenges within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

As a Year 2 Class Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils as they consolidate their Key Stage 1 learning and prepare for the transition into Key Stage 2. You will deliver a broad, balanced, and engaging curriculum that develops strong foundations in reading, writing, and mathematics, while also promoting creativity, independence, and resilience.

You will plan and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners, using assessment effectively to inform planning and ensure progress for every child. You will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where children feel confident to take risks, ask questions, and celebrate their achievements.

The role requires a teacher who understands the importance of early learning and development, including phonics, early reading, and numeracy, while also nurturing social, emotional, and personal growth.
