Group Financial Accountant
Quarto Group Inc. is a listed international book publisher who is looking for a dynamic Group Financial Accountant, in this new role, to join their small highly skilled team. This is a key role and will suit someone with an Audit and Analytical background and who has strong interpersonal skills.
The Role
* Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, the Group Financial Accountant will be responsible for the monthly reporting function. This includes reporting on both actual and planned results, monitoring and reporting on key performance metrics and production of monthly business review packs, for the Group and the individual business units. The candidate will play an integral role in ensuring accurate and timely reports, working very closely with the Group Finance Director.
* Responsible for the preparation and completion of the annual budget, and any similar forecasts, together with key assumptions and ancillary data, in a format that is suitable for submission to the Board and its finance providers.
* Performing routine group accounting tasks, such as posting nominal ledger journals, recharging of inter-group costs and preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
* Work closely with our US & UK based finance teams. Challenge the monthly results submitted by the subsidiaries.
* Production of Statutory Accounts for several legal entities in UK and preparation of data for the UK & US corporation tax returns, as requested by our tax advisers in those countries.
* Developing / identifying the tools and processes needed to ensure that we have the correct information to allow us to be more accountable, accurate and timely in our reporting and improving our ability to react.
The Person
* Qualified accountant with at least 1-year PQE.
* Must hold a recognised accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA or equivalent).
* Audit background with sound technical knowledge. IFRS and FRS 102 experience will be useful.
* An individual looking for a role with potential for progression in a growing, fast-paced global organisation.
* Highly skilled in Excel with a strong attention to detail.
* Experience of working as part of a team.
* Group Finance experience is desirable.
* Demonstrate entrepreneurial can-do attitude, always delivering on tasks through to conclusion within a timely manner.
