The Assistant Director of Programmes will be responsible for providing expert advice to the Executive Board on value and benefits realisation of digital transformation programmes; giving assurance to the Board on return on digital technology that is agile, fit for current and future purpose, safe and resilient and offers value for money. The Assistant Director of Programmes will set direction and provide overall strategic leadership for Programmes and projects, working closely with their peers, playing an active role in Strategy, Planning and Design as well as leveraging technology to support safe and high performing implementation of key Digital Technology projects and programmes. They will represent CAVUHB in digital programme delivery forums acting in the best interest of the Health Board and the objectives of NHS Wales and their national partners.
Responsibilities
* Define the roadmap for how the digital portfolio of programmes and projects will be delivered in the Health Board.
* Ensure that the digital programme & project resources meet the health board’s short and long‑term plans.
* Create programme timelines for the deployment of new technologies.
* Advise the board on digital advancements and their benefits to the organisation.
* Maintain a service‑focused outlook in choosing new technologies for the Health Board.
* Conduct horizon scans to stay on top of technology trends and developments.
* Manage the programme and projects budgets and time frames.
* Responsible for budget setting within these areas of responsibility.
* Responsible for business case development to secure investment funding.
* Ensure a robust and fit‑for‑purpose programme and project management standards & methodologies.
* Ensure all technology solutions delivered by programmes adhere to regulatory standards.
* Provide effective strategic programme leadership and a clear vision.
* Ensure the experience of service users is improved through the introduction of new technologies and digital services.
