The Role: You will carry out reactive maintenance and repairs in social housing properties across North London. The position involves a mixture of planned and emergency works in both occupied and void (empty) properties, ensuring a high-quality and “right first time” service for residents. Main Duties: Perform 1st and 2nd fix carpentry (doors, skirting, architraves, flooring, kitchen fitting, locks) Carry out minor multi-trade repairs (basic plumbing, tiling, patch plastering, decorating) Diagnose and correct building fabric defects efficiently Complete repairs to a high standard within set timeframes Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety procedures Maintain accurate job records via handheld device or job sheets Provide excellent customer care when working in residents’ homes Requirements: NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Carpentry/Joinery (or equivalent) Experience: minimum 2 years working in social housing or property maintenance Manual Driving Licence: Full UK – no more than 6 points Good communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently Flexibility to participate in an out-of-hours rota
