Salary: £57,663 – £63,157

30 days annual leave entitlement
4 days a week in the office initially, reducing to 1 day a week. Long term, post probation - twice a month in the office, subject to service/corporate needs
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Lead – IT and Digital to shape and deliver innovative, value-driven digital strategies across a shared service setting that supports multiple partners.
This role leads on all aspects of Digital & IT procurement, contract management, supplier relationships, and commissioning governance, ensuring that digital investments are aligned to strategic goals and deliver maximum value and performance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
o Leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive Digital & IT Service Plan and Category Strategy.
o Driving complex procurement processes and contract negotiations across a variety of IT and digital services.
o Acting as the subject matter expert for all IT commissioning and supplier engagement.
o Ensuring digital contracts and services provide value for money, measurable impact, and continuous improvement.
o Shaping the approach to market engagement, working with internal and external stakeholders to understand needs and opportunities.
o Providing mentoring and support to colleagues across teams, helping build commercial and commissioning capability.
o Deputising for the Commercial Manager – Digital & IT as required.
Skills & Experience
o A strong background in IT procurement, contract management, and commercial leadership within a complex or public service setting.
o Proven ability to navigate procurement legislation, frameworks, and commissioning best practice.
o Commercial acumen and expertise in IT supplier markets, risk evaluation, and value assurance.
o Experience leading on supplier relationship management and contract performance.
o Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proactive, collaborative approach.
o CIPS Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years in IT purchasing or contract negotiation)
