Primary Responsibilities
HDR is looking for a project manager with experience in client development and delivery of data center projects. The candidate should have a proven record of successfully delivering data center and mission‑critical projects from upfront planning and pre‑design through detail design, construction support, and commissioning. This role also requires the ability to develop and secure work from a robust global client base, expanding HDR’s reputation within these markets. Responsibilities include managing multi‑disciplinary design teams from conception to completion, ensuring organizational focus and follow‑through, and collaborating closely with Regional Building Engineering Services Business Group Managers and the global TMT client management team. Some travel to client sites or other HDR offices is required.
Additional Duties
* Mentoring/Managing:
o Help grow a collaborative team that promotes career growth, high‑quality construction documents, client satisfaction, and mutual support.
o Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and manage workload through project development to completion.
o Mentor, organize, and facilitate staff growth and mission‑critical staff recruiting and retention.
* Marketing:
o Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings.
o Assist Marketing and Business Development groups in developing fee proposals and scope of work documents.
o Promote HDR through regular client interface.
o Collaborate on development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards to achieve business group, regional, and company objectives.
* Technical:
o Ensure product deliverables meet quality standards.
o Manage and lead project teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
o Control project quality, schedule, scope, and budget.
o Handle forecasting, invoicing, and contract management.
o Create vital proposal content including scope, schedule, and budget.
o Assist HDR in interview preparation, presentations, and interview preparation.
o Work cooperatively with local office leads, other business groups, technical directors, and marketing managers.
* Perform other duties as needed.
* Travel: Some travel to job sites or other HDR offices may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in site programming, project planning, design, construction and/or commissioning.
* Previous data center/mission‑critical experience at an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm is desired.
* Strong desire to stay current with trends in the fast‑paced mission‑critical industry.
* Ability to interact with various design teams and excellent organizational, project management, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
* Working knowledge of Uptime Topology standards, ASHRAE TC 9.9, and ISO standards regarding PUE, CUE, and WUE.
* Experience with Newforma Project Center and/or ProjectWise Document Management Software.

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a related field.
* 7 years related experience.
* Minimum of 2 years project management experience.
* Ability to interact with various design teams and strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.

Expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographic location: $110,950 – $206,050. (New Jersey: $95,000 – $198,125)
