Overview
The Breakfast Care Club Playworker role is part time and Term Time only for 6.25 hours per week. The role is 1 hour 15 minutes per day, Monday to Friday 07:45 - 09:00. Our Trust's vision is to support young people to develop aspiration and motivation and to be successful; high ambitions for all young people in our academies and all roles at our Academy are central to ensuring that we work to support this. The Local Governing Board of Discovery Academy wishes to appoint a willing, enthusiastic and caring breakfast club playworker to supervise, help and play with pupils during the morning breakfast club in the playground and dining areas of the Academy.
Responsibilities
* Supervise pupils during Breakfast Club, working as part of a team, including welfare, behaviour and safety.
* Ensure a clean, tidy environment and pupils’ welfare in line with the Academy's behaviour policy.
* Control pupil behaviour, deal with any misbehaviour and liaise with teaching staff as appropriate.
* Attend to pupils who may be sick or injured and raise welfare/safety concerns to the Principal.
* Maintain a safe and hygienic environment; supervise safety of children at all times.
* Identify hazards and deal with them to prevent accidents; make senior leaders aware of any issues or accidents.
* Supervise play and organise games/activities for children.
* Administer First Aid if necessary (training provided).
* Attend training deemed appropriate by the Principal for the role.
* Carry out other duties as deemed appropriate by the Principal related to the supervision of children.
Contract and Benefits
* Permanent, part-time role, 6.25 hours per week, Term Time Only.
* Actual salary of £3,801 - £3,861 (TMBC Grade C, Points 5-6).
* Salary subject to standard terms and conditions of employment for Victorious Academies Trust.
Requirements and Safeguarding
* Victorious Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and/or young people; the role is subject to the Trust's Safer Recruitment Process.
* All support staff roles within our Trust have a probationary period of three months.
