Your Responsibilities as a Team Leader
As a pivotal member of our service, you will lead and support a team of Learning Disability Support Workers. Your key duties will include:
* Providing leadership, guidance, and day-to-day direction to support workers delivering care in the community.
* Coordinating and overseeing support plans, ensuring care is person-centred, safe, and effective.
* Mentoring staff, offering hands-on support, coaching, and reflective practice.
* Conducting supervisions, spot checks, and competency assessments to maintain high standards of care.
* Supporting with complex cases and modelling effective approaches to behaviours that challenge, including the use of PMVA and de-escalation strategies.
* Monitoring digital care notes, risk assessments, and incident reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* Liaising with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) to promote positive outcomes and smooth communication.
* Contributing to rota planning, ensuring adequate coverage and continuity of care.
* Promoting a positive team culture, encouraging resilience, compassion, and professional growth.
Essential Requirements
To succeed as a Team Leader, you must have:
* Minimum 12 months experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities
* Proven ability to lead, mentor and supervise staff (formal or informal leadership experience considered).
* PMVA training and strong behaviour management skills.
* Experience delivering person-centred support and promoting independence.
* Confidence using digital care systems for monitoring and reporting.
* A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
* Right to Work in the UK.
Desirable Qualifications
* NVQ/QCF Level 3 (or working towards Level 4) in Health & Social Care.
* First Aid training or equivalent.
