An exciting new opportunity has arisen within the Catering Service Delivery team for a Band 2 Clerk/Typist to work as part of our team of catering service delivery experts. In this role, you'll play a part in assisting to deliver service excellence to the Leeds Teaching Hospitals patients.
At Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, we serve over 2,000 patients each day. None of this would happen without the behind-the-scenes administration that helps coordinate everyone's work.
Therefore, we're looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic individual to assist with our administrative processes.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for ensuring all allocated administration and purchasing duties are completed promptly, meeting Trust and local department targets.
You need to demonstrate flexibility, commitment, a customer-focused attitude, and contribute to ongoing service improvement.
Good computer literacy is essential: typing catering reports and patient meal order details into an electronic system.
Booking and dispatch of catering orders and deliveries.
Handling correspondence, both incoming and outgoing, as required by senior staff.
Responding to telephone inquiries from hospital staff, outside agencies, and patients.
Performing general clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, and emailing.
Proactively checking, processing, and clarifying special patient diet orders and requests to ensure timely feeding.
Participating in quality assurance checks aligned with department standards.
Raising supply chain issues regarding patient food items for consideration of alternatives, in line with department procedures.
Maintaining a mature, pleasant, and friendly demeanor; a good sense of humor is advantageous.
Having a flexible approach to work.
Being committed to providing a high-quality service that meets the needs of patients, staff, and other health professionals.

Qualifications
* Basic Food Safety/Hygiene certificate (or ability to obtain on commencement). Basic level English and Maths.
* Level 3 Food Safety/Hygiene certificate. Health & Safety / COSHH training or awareness.
Additional Requirements
* Ability to meet Occupational Health requirements, including clearance for blood-borne viruses, in line with Trust policy.
