About the role

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Account Executive to join our dynamic team and contribute to delivering exceptional insurance services to our diverse clientele across Scotland. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor, building long-lasting client relationships, driving sustainable business growth, and ensuring the highest standards of service excellence. Core Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

1. Act as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of Commercial/Specialist clients.

2. Develop a comprehensive understanding of clients’ businesses, risks, and strategic priorities.

3. Facilitate insightful client meetings, presentations, and periodic reviews to deliver customized insurance solutions and advice.

4. Provide expert recommendations on insurance strategies, risk management approaches, and market trends.

Business Growth & Development

5. Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities in the Scottish market.

6. Deepen existing client relationships through effective cross-selling and upselling initiatives.

7. Develop winning proposals and participate in tenders to secure new business.

8. Build and maintain a strong professional network by engaging in key industry events and networking opportunities.

Policy Renewal & Placement

9. Formulate and execute renewal strategies tailored to client needs.

10. Negotiate favourable insurance terms and pricing with insurers to deliver competitive, high-value coverage solutions.

11. Collaborate with internal placement and technical teams to structure optimal insurance programs.

12. Ensure policies are placed accurately, in compliance with regulations, and within agreed timelines.

Team Collaboration & Compliance

13. Work in partnership with Account Handlers, Claims teams, and Broking professionals to deliver consistent and high-quality service.

14. Adhere to Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulatory standards and organizational governance protocols.

15. Maintain meticulous records of client data and update reporting pipelines as required.

16. Support the development and mentorship of junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and professional growth.

Market Expertise

17. Stay informed of emerging industry trends, evolving risks, and insurer appetites.

18. Anticipate client needs by proactively identifying innovative insurance solutions.

19. Ensure alignment with changes in regulatory requirements and compliance standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience & Qualifications

20. Demonstrated experience in Commercial/Specialist Insurance within the UK market.

21. Comprehensive understanding of Commercial/Specialist Lines insurance products and services.

22. Proven track record in account development, client retention, and business acquisition.

23. ACII qualification or progress towards achieving certification highly desirable.

24. Strong knowledge of FCA regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.

25. Exceptional client engagement and relationship-building skills, adopting a consultative and client-first approach.

26. Outstanding negotiation, communication, and presentation talents—both verbal and written.

27. Results-oriented with a strong business acumen and a focus on achieving growth objectives.

28. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively and ensure attention to detail.
