Band 5 Occupational Therapist - Rotation
East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust: Investing in Rehabilitation and Home First services to deliver 'The Art of the Possible'
At East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (ESHT), we're committed to building a better future for healthcare through innovative and patient-centered services.
We are enhancing outcomes for patients by investing in Acute Therapy, Urgent Community Response, and Virtual Ward services as part of our forward-looking plan. Our 'Art of the Possible' vision aims to provide care that is:
* Closer to home
* Faster to access
* Seamlessly coordinated
* Built around our patients
Our Home First and Virtual Ward models enable recovery in patients' own homes with hospital-level support, ensuring comfort, dignity, and expert care.
This approach offers:
* Faster recovery and fewer hospital admissions
* Personalized care wherever needed
* Greater independence and improved community outcomes
We believe passionate people are essential for innovation. Therefore, we're investing in both our services and our staff.
Main duties of the job
The band 5 rotation offers a valuable opportunity to gain diverse experience across different areas and throughout the patient journey. Each rotation lasts 6 months, allowing you to work with various conditions and apply your theoretical knowledge practically within the OT process.
We seek motivated, innovative practitioners with excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure. We support your development through a comprehensive training and development program, including a preceptorship scheme and dedicated Occupational Therapy Development Lead to assist your transition from student to qualified practitioner. Regular supervision, appraisals, and peer forums are also provided.
You will have opportunities to develop your occupational therapy and inter-professional clinical skills, as well as areas of clinical interest. These roles are excellent for clinical growth and can lead to leadership and service development opportunities, supporting your progression to a Band 6 OT role within ESHT.
We are committed to fostering a culture of equality, diversity, and belonging. We actively encourage applications from individuals belonging to marginalized communities.
About us
Our staff benefits include development opportunities, NHS pension scheme enrollment, access to nurseries at EDGH and Conquest, staff restaurants, and on-site accommodation.
