Avon and Wiltshire Partnership (AWP) are looking for an exceptional person to provide leadership to deliver our vision to deliver excellence for people with a learning disability and autistic people in our specialist acute inpatient mental health services.
NHSE expects the service to be implemented in line with the South West regional learning disability and autism capacity programme of care (2023). The ambition is to deliver a specialist, acute mental health care setting to meet the environmental and clinical needs of people with a learning disability and or autism that cannot access mainstream inpatient services.
The Kingfisher is being coproduced, and you will be influential in designing and implementing our service and team in partnership with people with lived experience.

Main duties of the job
* Working as a team to ensure that people with a Learning Disability and Autism receive high quality, person-centred care that always considers safety, privacy, and dignity.
* Working within a multi-professional team in inpatient/community settings, providing support, care, and treatment within established guidelines and protocols.
* Developing and practicing therapeutic care skills, contributing significantly to the psychological, emotional, and social wellbeing of service users.
* Enabling service users to reach their maximum independence, ensuring care that prioritizes safety, effectiveness, partnership, and hope for them and their families.
* Providing enhanced support to service users with complex needs, as expected in a specialised service.
* Supporting, coaching, and supervising less experienced team members to develop skills aligned with a specialist service.
