Under the supervision of pharmacy leadership and with direction from pharmacists, this incumbent competently performs the tasks of the pharmacy technician. This lead technician ensures other pharmacy technicians follow established protocols and consistently abide by departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Also, responsible, in conjunction with leadership, in the training of other pharmacy technicians and assignment of required tasks to keep the inpatient and/or retail pharmacy functional. Responsible for overseeing annual technician competency assessment and documentation and assuming the lead on technician specific activities and projects. Minimum Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in healthcare related field preferred. Minimum Work Experience 4 years of relevant hospital or retail pharmacy experience Level IV technician or equivalent experience. Required Licenses/Certifications Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT). Vermont State Pharmacy Technician Registration. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of policies, procedures, regulations, and equipment for area. Ability to apply critical thinking skills in problem solving. Ability to coordinate activities of other pharmacy technicians. Demonstrates aseptic technique in I.V. room. Ability to communicate effectively using written and verbal communication. Demonstrated strong knowledge of basic computer skills. Pay Range: $21.30 - $31.49 COMPETITIVE DIFFERENTIALS RATES o $4.25 - Evenings o $8.00 - Nights o $4.75 - Weekends
