Location: We are currently looking to recruit 2 Industrial Electrician's to work across the Doncaster and Barnsley areas in our maintenance department within our Wastewater business area here at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Work type : Permanent. Out of hours, weekend working, and bank holidays will be worked as part of a structured stand-by rota. Once fully trained you will be assessed for working on your own and you will be required to participate in an out of hours standby rota which will include evenings, weekends, and overnight callouts. As an Industrial Electrician, you will undertake maintenance of Yorkshire Waters Electrical and Mechanical assets across wastewater treatment and pumping installations. Mobile working as part of a Maintenance Team to deliver Planned & Reactive maintenance, responding to emergency calls both in and out of hours (on call-out rota). Driving to deliver improved asset reliability through effective decision making.
As an Industrial Electrician you will be required to work unsupervised in remote geographic locations and be accountable for the completion of planned and reactive electrical tasks within agreed timescales, quality, and cost parameters.
Candidates will be expected to manage and prioritise your own workload effectively and to build and maintain relationships with operational customers, colleagues, suppliers, and contract partners. Adhering to the Health and Safety policy and standards actively identifying hazards, providing mitigation, and reporting onto the company hazard database to ensure the cause of the hazard is removed.
You will be required to supervise approved Contract Partners, providing risk assessments and method statements where permit to work is required for a given task. Assist in the development and training of apprentices as well as less experienced members of the team, identifying ways to improve the value and service delivered by the Maintenance Function within Process & Pumping. Installation & commission new plant and equipment to relevant standards is essential. Diagnosing and repairing faults on systems and plant.
You will conduct your own risk assessments and create appropriate method statements when required to safely carry out maintenance activities. It is an essential requirement that you hold a recognised Electrical Craft/Technician Apprenticeship and either a City & Guilds/ ONC/ BTEC/ NVQ/ HNC/ HND or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Eng Tech.
You will be required to visit sites across the Yorkshire Region therefore a full valid driving licence (with no more than six points) is an essential requirement of this role.
HNC Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
As a time served industrial electrician.
Fault finding on control circuits up to the PLC.
MS office.
Ability to produce maintenance reports.
Experience of fault finding with industrial motors and starters.
Experience fault finding with industrial 3 phase systems.
Ideally, you will have previous experience gained as an industrial electrician within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities, process, or manufacturing industry sectors. As part of this role, you will be required to work within confined spaces, any successful candidate must pass strict medical criteria including, BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing, and Spirometry tests to ensure your full safety when working in hazardous environments.
