SUMMARY Purchase parts, materials, services or other goods and coordinates activities involved with determining inventory needs for materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, etc, for FIBA. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required Review and place orders for requisitions requesting MRO supplies, long-lead stockroom inventory, outside services and capital expenditures as required. Review and place orders for raw material and stockroom inventory utilizing MRP and Min Exception reports for quantity and delivery requirements. Interviews and confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Expedites orders and requests as needed. Estimates values according to knowledge of market price. Determines method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid. Prepares purchase orders or bid requests. Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Maintains procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action. Keeps abreast of market trends, changes in business practices in the assigned markets, new or altered types of materials entering the market, etc. May approve invoices for payment. May expedite delivery of goods to users. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING TIME College degree preferred with 5-8 years experience in manufacturing, MRP/purchase orders/accounting systems. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Inventory software; Order processing systems and Manufacturing software. ACCOUNTABILITY Complexity Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or Latitude of Judgment WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. Physical Demands Efforts The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. Mental & Visual Demands Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: Office environment. Various PPE devices & equipment such as gloves, hard hat, safety shoes, hearing protection and glasses may be required when on the production floor.
