An exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Senior Practitioner in the CCETTS team based in Lincoln for a 12‑month secondment or fixed‑term position.
This role provides crisis and enhanced home treatment for young people with acute mental health difficulties such as self‑harm, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, disordered eating, and psychosis, acting as an alternative to tier 4 admission and supporting discharge from acute inpatient care.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing crisis assessments and 1‑on‑1 therapeutic interventions using DBT and CBT skills.
* Delivering emotional first aid group work and psycho‑education for parents and carers.
* Working closely with the CAMHS Mental Health Liaison service.
* Working a shift pattern on a rota basis covering 7 days per week: 08:45‑19:00 hrs.
* Ensuring safe and effective assessment, treatment and comprehensive discharge planning with strong clinical reasoning and appropriate assessment tools.
* Providing rapid response to children/young people with urgent and emergency mental health presentations over a 24/7 rota.
* Managing referrals for assessment and intensive community treatment for those experiencing a mental health crisis or at risk of hospital admission.
* Acting as bed co‑ordinators for out‑of‑county placements.
* Supporting the access assessment of new referrals for inpatient beds.
* Acting as lead professional for complex cases within the team.
* Engaging with young people to provide mental health and risk assessment, risk‑management plans, and taking appropriate therapeutic risk following a crisis.
* Providing full assessment and collaborative care planning in partnership with multidisciplinary team, young people, carers and other workers.
* Working in accordance with relevant childcare, health legislation and professional standards, engaging with wider children’s services for safeguarding, Common Assessment Framework and other inter‑agency processes.
* Proactively involving children/young people and their families/carers in service development.
The position is based in Lincolnshire with regular travel across North of Lincolnshire; a reliable means of transport is essential.
Applicants should possess strong therapeutic skills in DBT and CBT, excellent risk assessment and management abilities, experience in community crisis care, and be able to work flexible hours in a demanding environment.
