What We’re Looking For
6. Registered Children’s Nurse (RNC) with NMC registration.
7. Experience in paediatric emergency or acute care.
8. Leadership skills and a passion for teamwork.
9. Calm under pressure, great communicator, and ready to take charge.
Bonus Points If You Have:
10. Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS).
11. Experience in audits or service improvement projects.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
17. Provide leadership, coordination, and support to team members on each shift
18. Link with Ward 8 and PAU Coordinators to ensure patient flow is maintained
19. Liaise with the multidisciplinary team regarding patient care ️️
20. Ensure all relevant referrals are completed, such as safeguarding ️, health visiting, mental health
21. Act as an appraiser for team members, developing the future workforce
22. Maintain standards and encourage continuous improvement

Qualifications & Education
Essential criteria
23. Appropriate Child NMC Registration
24. Significant Experience in Paediatric Nursing
25. NMC recognised Mentorship qualification or willingness to work towards following 18 months commencement in post
26. Evidence of continuing education or development
27. Level 3 Safeguarding
Desirable criteria
28. Degree
29. APLS/EPALS or willingness to undertake
30. Relevant courses/ qualification
31. Experience of using Manchester triage system.
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
32. Awareness of changes within Nursing Practice
33. Knowledge of Clinical Governance and the relevance to practice
34. Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures
35. Experience of leading clinical shifts
36. Evidence of clinical competence in area of speciality or willingness to expand clinical role e.g. venepuncture and cannulation
