We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated GP to join our hardworking multidisciplinary team, working 4 sessions.
This post will be under the BMA model contract. We are a training Practice. Our CQC rating is good.
Main Duties of the Job
* In person consultations
* Telephone consultations
* Visiting patients at home
* Checking and signing prescriptions
* Covering duty clinic on a shared rotation
* Dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence as required
* Clinical administration
In accordance with the PCN/General Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available for surgery consultations, telephone consultations, in‑home visits, repeat prescriptions, blood result checks, and timely completion of paperwork, reports and correspondence.
About Us
We are a small practice located in Withington serving a population of around 5,500 patients. The practice has a friendly, supportive team consisting of 1 GP partner, 1 salaried GP, 1 physician assistant, a pharmacy technician, 1 Practice Manager and 4 Administrators. We are part of an active PCN and work collaboratively with good practice sharing.

Job Responsibilities
* Deliver highly effective medical care to the entitled population
* Provide services consistent with the GMS contract
* Generic prescribing following local and national guidance
* Manage long‑term conditions effectively
* Process administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests, blood result checks, Docman and other admin tasks
* On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
* Maintain accurate clinical records in line with good practice, policy and guidance
* Work collaboratively, sharing an equal portion of the practice workload
* Adhere to best practice from clinical guidelines and the audit process; contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives
* Accept delegated responsibilities for designated areas or QOF
* Attend and contribute to practice meetings as required
* Help develop and maintain clinical governance and training
* Ensure compliance with appraisal and revalidation processes
* Commit to self‑learning and promote continuous professional development across the team
* Support training of medical students across all clinical disciplines
* Supervise and support ARRS staff
* Assist partners in achieving strategic aims, providing recommendations to improve income and reduce expenditure
* Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies
* Encourage collaborative working with all staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement
Additional tasks may include:
* Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead
* Take part in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
* Participate in the review of significant and near‑miss events using structured approaches such as root cause analysis (RCA)
Person Specification
Essential Experience
* Experience working in UK General Practice
* Within 2 years of certification of completion of training on the start date of the ARRS role
* Experience working with vulnerable groups
Desirable Experience
* Experience in elderly medicine/frailty
* Experience in LGBTQ+ Health
Essential Qualifications
* GMC Registered – not subject to suspension
* Qualified General Practitioner
* Currently on a CCG's Performers List
* Clear enhanced DBS Check
* UK Work Permit (if required)
* Newly‑qualified GP
* Up to date with relevant policies and guidance
* Understand principles of evidence‑based medicine and prescribing
* Chronic disease management
* Self‑audit and reflection
* Organised and efficient in record‑keeping and task completion
* Time management – able to prioritise and work under pressure
Desirable Qualifications
* Knowledge of Emis Web (Optum) Clinical System
* Leadership and education skills
* Experience of service development/quality improvement
