We are looking for a Occupational Therapistto join an independent day school for neurodivergent children andyoung people aged from 7 to 19 who have a primary diagnosis ofAutism.

You will work closely with the OT team overseenby the Lead Therapist and also you will work with neurodivergentyoung people who present with sensory mental health and specialeducational needs associated with their diagnosis of autism. Aflexible approach a sense of humour reliability punctuality staminaresilience and the ability to work under pressure are essential.You will work closely with the other schools in their group haveextensive community links and believe in thinking differently andbeing as creative as possible in ourapproach.
Tasks
1. Tofacilitate Occupational Therapy interventions to a defined caseloadworking with an agreed degree of autonomy and independence withregular support/supervision from the Therapy Team Lead and clinicalsupervisor.
2. Conduct initial parent/carermeetings to determine case history andneeds.
3. Facilitate initial assessment sessionsemploying appropriate assessment methods to determineneeds
4. Plan prepare deliver and evaluate supportprogrammes for pupils and oversee individual programmes.
5. Provide individualised targets as part of eachpupils IEP in consultation with parents and teachingstaff.
6. Report on the development progress andattainment of pupils and maintain records ofinterventions.
7. To keep confidential clinicalcasenotes for each student in line with professionalstandards.
8. To write reports to contribute toAnnual Review meetings.
9. To maintain regularcommunication with parents teaching staff and MDT to support ajoined up approach around students.
10. Tocontribute to multidisciplinary team meetings student focusmeetings and class meetings to share information and provideappropriate strategies.
11. To incorporatespecialist information into practice in order to ensure a joined upapproach between therapies and more widely across theschool.
12. To deliver staff training includingOccupational Therapy induction for newstaff.
13. Depending on experiencesupport the MDTLead in the specific leadership of the OT team including providingsupervision for an OTassistant.
Requirements
1. Youmust hold a BSc or MSc in OccupationalTherapy
2. You must beregistered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) andbe a registered practicing member of RCOTEXPERIENCE:
3. Relevantexperience working with autistic children and youngpeople.
4. Experience workingwithin school settings isdesirable.
5. Knowledge ofcompetencies/standards framework required for the relevant therapydiscipline.
