HR Adviser | CIPD L5 Associate Diploma in People Management
PJA is looking for Flood Risk specialists to support the continuing success of our growing Water Team - we are recruiting Nationwide for these positions.
We are a friendly team of specialist consultants working to deliver holistic water management solutions for our clients, working across all aspects of the water sector including, but not exclusive to, flood risk, surface water management, foul water management, water quality, water resources (efficiency/neutrality) and hydraulic modelling.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have the following key characteristics at a suitable level for respective grade/position:
* A passion for proactive flood risk management, from all sources, and integration of this within new and existing development, championing nature based solutions and multifunctional benefits.
* Knowledge of (or be able to learn) hydraulic design principles and hydrological processes and be able to apply these.
* Be able to (or learn to) actively promote consideration of flood risk from all sources (fluvial, tidal, surface water, ground water, artificial systems etc.) within our work.
* Be able to interpret existing information, drawings and modelling data and scope surveys to facilitate the delivery of sustainable solutions.
* Knowledge and experience of applying policy and guidance, ideally including:
* NPPF and PPG
* The SuDS Manual (CIRIA C753) and National Standards for SuDS
* The Water Industry Act, Flood & Water Management Act, Land Drainage Act etc.
* Sewers for Adoption 7th Edition, Sewerage Sector Guidance, Code of Adoption Agreement.
* Knowledge and experience of software application, ideally including:
* FEH
* AutoCAD
* GIS.
* Knowledge of designing and delivering preliminary/concept and detailed flood risk solutions.
* Ability to consider multi-disciplinary implications to your work and work collaboratively internally and externally to achieve ‘good design’.
* Knowledge of Good report writing and communication skills.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Have understanding of CDM regulations, including ability to prepare design risk assessments.
* Strong academic background in a relevant science discipline (e.g. a degree in Civil Engineering, or a relevant higher education qualification) and/or extensive experience in a similar position.
* Chartered status or working towards Chartered status (ICE/CIWEM) would be advantageous.
