As a Hire Controller at a leading equipment rental provider, you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service. You will be the first point of contact for customers, building strong relationships and supporting them through the entire hire journey – from initial enquiry to off-hire and feedback. Your focus will be on understanding the customer’s needs, offering solutions, upselling when appropriate, and ensuring a smooth and professional service every time. Key Responsibilities: Handle inbound hire enquiries via phone, email, and website Process orders from enquiry through to post-hire feedback Develop strong, long-term relationships with customers Maximise hire and upsell opportunities through product knowledge Liaise with internal teams to coordinate deliveries and collections Use your initiative to resolve issues quickly and efficiently Maintain accurate records and uphold high standards of service About You: Previous experience in a customer service or sales support role Experience handling inbound orders or enquiries Industry knowledge in equipment hire or construction is desirable, but not essential Strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team A proactive and adaptable mindset, comfortable handling multiple priorities Confident using MS Office and eager to learn new systems A drive for continuous improvement and delivering a great customer experience About the Company: This role is with a leading national civil engineering and groundworks contractor serving major housing developers across the UK.
