About the school:
Our aim at Hamilton Grammar is to work collaboratively with our stakeholders and partners to be the progressive and innovative focal point of our community. We are committed to developing our professional learning in order to meet the evolving challenges of school life in the 21st century and improve our level of service year on year to support our learners and families. We seek to do this in line with the school values of respect, inclusion, equality and commitment in order to maintain our well-established school traditions and reputation. Ultimately, we seek to provide a stable, caring and challenging environment in which our young people and staff can grow and thrive.
Every school across our large estate has been part of an £m+ modernisation programme, with the aim of creating an additional support needs and primary and secondary provision in South Lanarkshire that is second to none in meeting the needs and benefits of all our pupils.
The Depute Head Teacher is required to:
1. Assist the Head Teacher in the overall management of the school as part of a Management Team.
2. Deputise for the Head Teacher in their absence and have responsibility for the leadership, good management and strategic direction of colleagues.
3. South Lanarkshire Council schools have recently undergone an £m+ modernisation programme.
4. The aim of this programme is simple - to create high quality additional support needs and primary and secondary provision in South Lanarkshire - fit for the twenty first century.
5. During this time we have built and modernised numerous Primary and Secondary Schools.
It is our mission to make positive meaningful changes in the lives of young people. We aim to provide an exceptional learning and working environment for pupils and staff and work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals.
We are now inviting applications from Fully Qualified (GTC) Secondary Teachers.
You will assist in the delivery of the curriculum and contribute to whole school initiatives, as appropriate and will carry out the range of duties outlined in Annexe B of "A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century".
Remits will be flexible to complement the skills base of the current Senior Team but previous experience of impact in the areas of developing learning and teaching approaches; curriculum development; and optimising attainment will be a desirable attribute.
