Children’s Nurse Opportunity in Margate Are you a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse looking for a truly meaningful role where your care directly supports one child and their family? Join our dedicated team providing one-to-one, bedside nursing care for a child with complex health needs in their home. Although the role is community-based, it remains a clinical, hands-on nursing position, offering the unique opportunity to work closely with a family and provide consistent, specialist care. The Role We are seeking an empathetic Registered Nurse in Margate to provide individualised 1:1 care during term-time school days. We have a vacancy for a part-time nurse working 2–3 regular shifts per week. Once inducted into the package, you will follow a stable, predictable working pattern — this is not an ad-hoc agency role. You will play a vital part in enhancing the child’s quality of life by delivering safe, person-centred bedside care while supporting their emotional well-being and development. Working in the family home, you will collaborate closely with both the child’s family and the wider multidisciplinary team. You will receive comprehensive in-house training and a full induction programme, led by our Nurse Manager, ensuring you feel confident, prepared, and fully supported in your role. We are committed to helping you deliver the highest standard of care and achieve the best possible outcomes for our client. Key Responsibilities Hickman line care – aseptic flushing, dressing changes, and infection monitoring PEG and gastrostomy feeding – administering feeds/medications and maintaining site hygiene Medication administration – safe and accurate delivery via enteral route, with monitoring TPN management – connecting/disconnecting infusions using sterile technique and monitoring for complications Ileostomy care – managing the stoma site, monitoring output, and supporting hydration Available Shift Patterns (set days) Tuesday, Thursday and Friday – 08:00–15:00 (Your regular pattern will be confirmed following induction.) Please note, payment through limited companies is not available for this position. SHCCJM Responsibilities Provide 1-2-1 support to a child with Complex Care needs. Work closely with the Nurse Manager Team to provide quality care to a paediatric client. Commit to a regular working pattern and collaborate with Care Coordinators for effective care delivery. Build rapport with clients and families, working within the family home to achieve individual goals. Potential for growth and development into a supervisor or management role. Requirements Right to work in the UK. Commitment to 2 regular shifts per week. Ability to fit seamlessly into the school setting. UK driving license and access to own vehicle. Compassion, confidence, and a gentle caring nature. Experience in delivering care to complex clients, preferably in the community.
