Overview
Lead Clinical Pharmacist – Education and Training. Based at Ipswich Hospital with cross-site collaboration with Colchester pharmacy colleagues. Lead on all education and training activities on the Ipswich site and cross-site education and training within the Pharmacy department at ESNEFT. Develop, deliver and maintain locally-based education and training schemes for all grades of pharmacist and clinical pharmacy technician staff. Take the lead on mentoring and coaching of junior pharmacists and student pharmacists throughout their Clinical Diploma and Foundation Trainee studies. Prepare and support staff development through mentoring, coaching, forums, clinical huddles and other educational activity, and support personal development plans and study opportunities.
Details about our pharmacy service and context include: ESNEFT has implemented the Epic electronic patient record system, including electronic prescribing and administration and pharmacy stock control system replacement. We host the NHS Specialist Pharmacy Service medicines advice site and the Regional Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit with a new Aseptic facility.
Lead on all education and training activities on the Ipswich site and any other relevant cross-site education and training activities within the Pharmacy department at ESNEFT. Develop, deliver and maintain locally-based education and training schemes for all grades of pharmacist and clinical pharmacy technician staff. Take the lead on ongoing mentoring and coaching of junior pharmacists and student pharmacists throughout their Clinical Diploma and Foundation Trainee studies. Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the optimal and cost effective use of medicines at ward level; minimising drug wastage accordingly. Provide an advanced level clinical pharmacy service at ward level in line with the pharmacy Key Performance Indicators and agreed clinical standards.
